1971 blaxploitation classic
Rating: 12/20
Plot: The titular private eye is hired by a gangster to find his kidnapped daughter.
What's it say about me that my favorite part of this movie is a stuttering newsstand guy?
Richard Roundtree was in the Samuel L. Jackson remake of
Shaft from 2000, and I just noticed that there's going to be a sequel to that supposedly coming out next year. I really like him here. This was his first role, and he comes on the scene as a presence. Half of what makes this movie worth watching at all is the attitude that he brings to the character.
Am I allowed to say that I don't think the score for this is all that good?
