1966 action movie
Rating: 14/20
Plot: Pei-Pei Chang tries to rescue her brother from some bad guys who want to exchange him for a political prisoner.
From director King Hu (
A Touch of Zen), this Shaw brothers' production is an early wire-fu action flick with a cool female protagonist. Pei-Pei Chang (or Chang Pei Pei) has a presence even if I'm not always convinced that her sword skills are legit. It's almost unfortunate that her character needs a drunken guardian angel. Like subsequent Shaw films, this has lots of color and more than a few iconic moments. It's definitely worth seeing.
