Plot: Ivy League guy goes to pick apples in Oregon.
As a David Sedaris fan, I was thrilled.
I really wanted to like this movie more than I did. It's fine, but all of its parts don't really come together to add up to much of anything, and the characters only rise to levels where they're mildly interesting. I don't know who Jonathan Groff is, but I liked him ok. He plays the type of character who's a straight man in a world surrounded by more-comic characters, but those other characters aren't funny. You get a handful of amusing situations and wonder if they actually say anything.
I think I'd rather read David Sedaris than see movies based on his stories.
