1990 neo-noir
Rating: 14/20
Plot: A con triangle ensues when a mother and her son and his girlfriend clash.
This adaptation of a Jim Thompson book has a story that works even though it often feels like it's a parody of classic 40's noir. Anjelica Huston is great, sultry and shady. Annette Bening has some great scenes. I really have a problem with John Cusack though. Not just in this movie, but in general.
I think I would have made a great con artist, by the way. If I had to do it all again. . .
